The Amaras Cupreata uses the rare and wild Cupreata agave that can only be found on certain mountain slopes in the Rio Balsas basin. The slopes are between 4,000 and 6,000 feet above sea level and it takes the Cupreata about 13 years to mature due to the harsh climate of the region. This Mezcal is made with no added yeast, making it very unique. Only open-air fermentation is used and the Mezcal is bottled and released un-aged. This Mezcal features aromas of leather, cocoa, and toasted pumpkin seeds. It has a very nice finish that transports you to a field after the rain.
