This mezcal doesn’t have a worm in the bottle, there’s a scorpion. It’s kind of bizarre but not as bad as worm mezcal. There are some soft floral notes on the nose. It’s quite full and velvety on the palate. Flavor notes of pepper, vanilla, and a slightly artificial lime taste. Not the worst introduction into joven mezcal for those used to drinking industrial blanco tequila. The handwriting on my bottle is smudged but it looks like batch 113-2, bottle 2708 out of 5000.…

price doesnt always equate with quality.this mezcal is not expensive but is one of my favorites.the flavor is sweet with strong anise.the licorice is not overpowering but balanced with mild hot pepper.creamy mouth feel.good heat.the aged scorpions are great too!they have a slight burnt tobacco quality that i really enjoy.i guess they felt the need to include the scorpion in the bottle as a marketing gimmick.the truth is that the spirit stands strong on its own.delicious!
Lot 113-2. Highly sippable and good as a mixer. This is cheap and delicious. Once I got over the Scorpion at the bottom, which is gimmicky, it’s actually got a going on. This has a lot of citrus on the nose and the palate. Notes of orange and lime. Balanced and clean.
